Philadelphia art & culture Magazine

civica.pHL

In 2025, I launched Civica  https://civicamag.com — a digital magazine about art, city life, and contemporary culture in Philadelphia.

The project grows out of curiosity: What happens when you look at a city not just as a map, but as a living, creative organism?

When I moved to Philadelphia, I was struck by how rich and multifaceted its cultural landscape is—but also how fragmented. Independent theaters, open-air art events, experimental galleries, neighborhood bookstores, and DIY spaces all exist but rarely appear on the same radar. I want to connect the dots.

Civica becomes a response — a platform that observes the city through its cultural gestures: a new play in a 40-seat black box theater, a local painter who documents rooftops. It’s about the culture that breathes between institutions — the kind you feel rather than analyze.
I create and curate content ranging from event guides to artist spotlights, theater essays, and neighborhood visual stories. I write, film, photograph, and design each piece with care, crafting a sharp and empathetic tone: intellectually curious, visually refined, and quietly philosophical.
My goal isn’t just to inform, but to offer an aesthetic experience — the kind of reading that makes you want to go out, walk the city, and see it differently.
This is Civica — a cultural journal that doesn’t explain the city but reflects it back, refracted through art, curiosity, and a sense of place.
